Albany Airport (ALB) provides over 200 flights daily for over three million passengers every year. Albany International Airport serves 11 passenger airlines through a 20-gate passenger terminal, and is the principal airport for the Capital Region in eastern New York state. Located four miles from the city of Albany at Colonie, Albany International Airport is easily accessible from major roads and Interstates 87, 88 and 90.
Passenger flights at the Albany International Airport began in October 1928, when the airport was still Albany Municipal Airport. The airport officially went international in 1979. Recent improvements include an extension to Albany airport’s primary runway to improve capacity and safety.

The terminal complex at the Albany international Airport consists of a total area of 230,000 square feet and is built into three levels. Three concourses are available for passenger services and exchange.
Level one is the level in which the ticket counters and baggage claim area resides. Most of the boarding gates are located on level two. The terminal's third level features a curved observation deck, which offers passengers and visitors an exciting view of the airport's runways, taxi ways and FAA Control Tower. Loudspeakers allow visitors on the observation deck to listen to conversations between the aircraft flight crews and air traffic controllers.
Major airlines such as American Eagle, Continental, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, US Airways and United Airlines are included in the 11 passenger airlines serving at the Albany International Airport. These airlines operate daily through the 20 boarding gates situated in the three Concourses of the terminal building.
Gift shops are located on all three concourses. Several branches of The Shop of Capital Region Museums, Capital Gifts, Capital News and Gifts and Paradies Newsstand are located at the airport.
Restaurants and Bars
Food and beverages are available throughout the terminal. Coffee Beanery, Carvel, McDonald's and Saranac Brew House are located at the Food Court on level two. Checkpoint Café is on the second floor, Capital Deli & Pub is on Concourse-B and Coffee Beanery is also located at Concourse-C. Vending machines are available on the baggage claim area on the first floor.
A Business Center is located on the second level of the Terminal on the C-Concourse. This business center provides passengers with Internet Access. Telephones with computer hookups are located throughout the terminal and parking garage. Wireless Internet connections are available throughout the terminal.

There are faxing and photocopying services available at the Business Center located on the second level of the Terminal on the C-Concourse. Fax material can be sent to +1 518 242 4489.
The Airport Mail Center is located on the first level of the terminal near the Information Desk. the Mail Center provides vending machines for the purchase of stamps, envelopes, postcards, express mail and pre-paid phone cards. A US Postal Service mailbox is also located here. UPS offers shipping material and pickup service and FedEx offers pickup service at the Mail Center as well.

Travelers with valid airline tickets will have immediate access to the Business Center to make transactions. Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs)
KeyBank offers ATMs on the C-Concourse and in the baggage claim area. Fleet bank offers an ATM on the A-Concourse.

Elevators are located throughout the terminal on all three levels for the benefit of the disabled passengers.
TDD phones are located throughout the terminal and are clearly marked with the recognizable hearing impaired sign. An additional TDD is located at the Reservation Center in the baggage claim area.
Complementary wheelchairs are provided for the travelers using the Albany International Airport. Wheelchairs and assistance are available from Sky Caps or by contacting the airline representative. Wheelchairs are also available at the information desk located on the first level of the terminal.

Many car rental companies provide their services at Albany International Airport. The rental car booths are located close to the baggage claim in the first level of the airport terminal. Located on the first floor of the parking garage and front of the terminal, the short-term parking lot offers free parking for a 30-minute period. Rates apply every half hour thereafter.
The long-term parking lot is located in the immediate surrounding area of the airport-parking garage. Vehicles can be parked up to seven consecutive days.
The second, third, fourth and fifth levels of the parking garage are available for parking at a higher rate.
The Economy parking lot is situated next to the airport runway. Parking is available for cheaper rates here.
A new, five-story, 2400 car-parking garage provides covered long and short-term parking and a heated pedestrian bridge takes travelers directly to the security checkpoint in the terminal. Escalators and elevators lead to ticketing and baggage claim
Parking for the Physically Disabled
Passengers with physical disabilities are provided with the lowest daily rates for parking at the short-term lot. Official disabled license plates or a permit must be prominently displayed to utilize this special offer.

Public Bus Services
Five bus lines provide local, regional and long distance transport to passengers. These buses travel to pre-fixed destinations such as Albany, Montreal, Plattsburgh and New York City, which are close to the places travelers wish to go to.
Currently, only Albany Yellow Cab Company is under contract to provide taxi services for the patrons of the airport. However, passengers may call other cab companies for their traveling purposes. The taxi stand is located near the baggage claim area.
Limousine services are provided by 14 agencies including Advantage, Hollywood, Premiere, White Dove and Transport the People Incorporated.
