Logan International Airport Boston Car Rental
Logan Airport is served by eight major car rental firms, listed below. Each rental car company has complimentary shuttle buses that transport passengers to / from the terminal and the rental car facility. Shuttles run regularly and stop curbside on the arrivals level for passengers to board. Passengers can request a departures level service. In Terminals C and E all rental companies have direct line telephones.
Logan Airport offers long- and short-term parking at the central parking garage, Terminal B garage, Terminal E parking lots 1 and 2, and long-term parking at the economy parking lot. American Express, Diners Club, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa credit cards are accepted at all on-airport parking facilities. Curbside parking is not allowed at any terminal.
Central Parking Garage
The central parking garage provides long- and short-term parking for Terminals B, C, D, and E, offering access to all terminals via pedestrian bridges located on Level 4. Passengers can use any of the call boxes located in the elevator lobbies to contact the garage office, 24 hours a day. During the construction period (till 2007), a new program called Central Valet will be in operation at no extra charge.
Terminal B Garage
Terminal B garage provides long- and short-term parking for Terminal B. All vehicles will be subjected to a security search including the trunk area. In addition, all vehicles must be parked head in. Provides premium-priced parking near airlines serving Terminal B. Exit Express is featured at Terminal B garage to offer more convenience. Parkers can pay by cash or credit card at any of the 21 kiosks located throughout the terminal before proceeding to the car. Use the express lane to exit the garage, and the pink parking ticket is necessary to process the transaction.
Terminal E Parking Lots 1 and 2
Terminal E parking lots 1 and 2 are located outside Terminal E and provide long- and short-term parking.
Economy parking is the most reasonably priced parking option for travelers to Logan Airport and provides long-term parking for Terminals B, C, D, and E. To get to this area, follow the "Economy Parking" signs from Logan's inbound roadway. A free, accessible 24-hour shuttle bus service is available to and from the terminals every 20 minutes.
Parking for Disabled Travelers
The central parking garage has designated accessible parking spaces and accessible elevators to all terminals. Pedestrian bridges between central parking and all the terminals are enclosed and fully accessible. Park in the over-height lot located to the right of the ticket dispenser just inside the central parking garage. After parking, visitors can request the accessible shuttle van by using the emergency call button located in the elevator lobby to the right of the entrance lane. More accessible parking spaces are available adjacent to each of the terminal bridges. The vertical clearance is at least 6' 10" at each of these parking areas.
Accessible parking with a vertical clearance of 6' 6" is available on Level 3 of Terminal B garage. Oversized van parking is available in the central parking garage's over-height lot to the right of the entrance plaza.
Accessible parking spaces with a vertical clearance of 6' 10" are located on Level 4 of the central parking garage, adjacent to the walkway to Terminal C. To access these spaces, after taking a ticket from the spitters on the left side of central parking entrance plaza, go straight up the ramp to Level 4. Drive as far as possible toward the back of the garage and take a left turn. The accessible spaces are located in row C.
To access Terminal D, follow the directions for Terminal C. Once inside Terminal C, turn to the left and follow signs for Terminal D.
Accessible parking spaces with a vertical clearance of 6' 10", convenient to Terminal E, are located on Level 4 directly in front of the walkway. There is an enclosed pedestrian bridge and a moving pedestrian walkway, which leads to an elevator lobby and then to the curb outside of Terminal E. To access these parking spaces, turn right and use the helix up to Level 4 after taking a ticket from the spitters on the right side of central parking entrance plaza.
Logan International Airport Boston Ground Transportation
Logan Airport is served directly by bus, airport accessible van, limousine, Logan Express, Logan Shuttle, MBTA subway and bus, shared van, South Station / trains, taxi, and water transport.
A number of bus lines service Boston Logan Airport, including Logan Direct Service to Southern Massachusetts (Hyannis, Barnstable, Sagamore, Plymouth, Rockland) and all Logan terminals, which is a new service sponsored by Massport and most trips bypass downtown Boston.
Airport Accessible Van Services

Limousines are available only by advanced reservation by calling your local limousine carrier. Limousine drivers report to the Logan limousine holding area and then proceed to the terminal limousine stand area when the flight has arrived. At Terminal B, the stands are located at US Airways, departures level, curbside and American Airlines, departures level, curbside. At Terminal C, passengers should look for signage directing them to the central garage, Level 4, and may take the pedestrian walkway, which will bring them directly to the limousine stand. At Terminal E, the stands are located at the outermost curb area.
This Massport service operates buses from Braintree (south of Boston), Framingham (west of Boston), Peabody, and Woburn (north of Boston) to all the terminals. Full-service bus terminals and secure long-term parking are available at all the above locations.
Massport provides a complimentary shuttle bus service between airline terminals at the arrivals levels, the airport subway station on the MBTA Blue Line, the Water Transportation Terminal, and satellite parking. All shuttle buses are wheelchair lift equipped. Massport shuttle bus service operates seven days per week.
MBTA Subway and Bus Services
Take the MBTA Blue Line to Airport Station. A free shuttle bus service is provided by Massport from the Airport Station to all airline terminals.
Buses serving Logan International Airport are operated by Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA), and the airport is served by bus routes 448 and 459. For detailed fare and schedule information, please visit www.mbta.com. From June 1, 2005, Silver Line bus rapid transit service is available at Logan. The Silver Line is the best direct connection to and from South Station (Red Line subway and South Shore / Metro West commuter rail services). The Silver Line drops off and picks up in front of the terminals.
Shared Van Services
The area between Logan and Greater Boston is served by City Transportation, Easy Transportation, J.C. Transportation Inc., Logan / Boston Hotel Shuttle, and Star Shuttle Inc. The area between Logan and Western Massachusetts is served by Knights Airport Limousine Service, Worcester Airport Limousine, and Zebra Airport Shuttle. The area between Logan and Northern New England is served by Flight Line, Mermaid Transportation, and Flight Line - Seacoast Service.
The MBTA subway, often called the "T" by locals, operates from Airport Station on the Blue Line to South Station in downtown Boston. There is a free shuttle bus service from the Airport Station to all the terminals. From South Station you can reach the rest of the city, state, and region by any combination of MBTA subway, commuter rail, buses, or via the Amtrak services.
Boston taxis are available at Logan terminals 24 hours a day and provide service to all of New England. All areas within a 12-mile radius of downtown Boston are charged a metered rate. Beyond the 12-mile radius the charge is a flat rate. All fares are based upon the occupancy of one to four passengers per taxi. Station wagons, accessible taxis for passengers with physical disabilities, and credit card taxis are available upon request at Logan Airport. Water Shuttle and Water Taxi Services
The water shuttle and water taxi services are an excellent way to avoid road congestion around the airport and for enjoyment. Scheduled and on-call vessels serve the Logan dock and provide direct connections to downtown Boston and other popular waterfront destinations in Boston Harbor year-round. Massport courtesy bus service carries passengers between the Logan dock and all airport terminals.

From the North on I-93 South
Take exit 24 (Government Center / Airport). Stay in the left lane and go through the Callahan Tunnel. The airport will be your second exit.
From the North Shore
Follow I-95 to Route 1 South (Saugus). Take Route 1 to the Route 60 exit (Revere Beach, Sumner Tunnel, and Logan Airport). Follow signs to 1A South to Logan Airport.
Please note: The old North Street route from Congress Street into the Callahan Tunnel will no longer provide alternate access into the Callahan Tunnel. Downtown drivers in the Government Center area headed into the Callahan Tunnel must now use the new Haymarket (New Chardon Street) entrance.
From the West
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike East and drive straight ahead. The Turnpike extension will take drivers into the Ted Williams Tunnel and on to the airport.
From the South
The exit 20 ramp connects I-93 North to the eastbound Turnpike and the Ted Williams Tunnel. Exit 24 to the Callahan Tunnel has been permanently closed.

TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS A complimentary shuttle bus service links the terminals, the airport subway station, the Water Transportation Terminal and satellite parking.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS From the West and South, drivers should take the Massachusetts Turnpike East, which connects with the Ted Williams Tunnel and goes directly into the airport. From the North drivers should either follow I-93 and go through the Callahan Tunnel, or take I-95 to Route 1 South, then follow signs to 1A South to Logan Airport.
CAR PARKING Short- and long-term parking is available at the central car park, connected to Terminals B, C, D and E via pedestrian bridges or elevated moving walkways. The Terminal B car park, which serves Logan’s busiest terminal, also offers short- and long-term parking. Long-term economy parking is also available in a remote location, connected to the terminals by a free 24-hour shuttle bus.
CAR HIRE Major car rental companies, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprize, Hertz, National and Thrifty, operate at the airport. Telephones to contact these agencies are available in Terminal C and E. There are car hire desks in the American Airlines side of Terminal B, while the US Airways side has car hire telephones.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT Water: The Water Transportation Bus Service is a courtesy bus service (route no.66) running from all airport terminals to the Logan dock and the MBTA Airport Station. There are water shuttles, catamarans and water taxis from Logan dock to downtown Boston Harbor. The T Harbor Express has numerous daily connections from Logan dock to Long Wharf, and the Quincy and Hull on the South Shore. Rail: Underground: Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) operate routes to/from Logan airport. Take the MBTA Blue Line at Airport Station for connections to destinations within Boston; a free shuttle bus service links the station to the terminals. Train: Commuter Rail train services serving New England leave from South Station and North Station in Boston. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available at all terminals 24 hours. Bus: MBTA bus nos.448, 459 and CT3 serve the airport and various locations in Boston, including stations. Bus services are also available from a number of private bus lines covering the New England area; the airport’s website has contact details for these companies. Logan Express offers a frequent express bus service from Braintree to the south shore, Framingham to the west, and Woburn to the north; buses stop at all terminals.
INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS The help desk at the airport is staffed with qualified public service representatives who assist callers with questions regarding ground transportation, commuting, airline support services and weather operations. A Travelers Aid kiosk is located in Terminal E, Arrivals level, near the exit to the taxi stand.
AIRPORT FACILITIES Money and communications: ATMs, banks and bureaux de change and Internet access are available throughout the airport. Mobile phone hire, photocopying and fax facilities are available in Terminal C. Eating and drinking: There are plenty of restaurants (including Italian, Chinese and seafood, as well as a grill), bars and cafés throughout the airport. The majority of those are concentrated in terminals B, C and E. Shopping: There are many shops in Terminal B and C, including duty-free; newsagents and gift shops are located in all terminals. Duty-free is also available in Terminal E. Luggage: Lockers are currently unavailable in all terminals, due to security concerns. Other facilities: These include shoe shine and repair, and a Kidport with facilities for children, including a museum and various play areas.

The Hilton Boston Logan Airport Hotel is connected to the terminals via a covered skybridge.
DISABLED FACILITIES Access for disabled people is excellent and the airport help desk provides TDD services 24 hours a day. Disabled car parking is available too. The Massachusetts State Police (tel: 617 567 2233) are located in Terminal D and are on hand to help disabled passengers. There is a free shuttle service between all terminals and airport locations for disabled passengers (tel: 617 561 1769).
