The two sectors of the Geneva International Airport (GVA) provide separate car rental offices. Rental car companies at the Swiss sector include Alamo , Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Holiday Auto and Sixt, while the French sector is served by Avis France, Citer France, Europcar France and Hertz France. Special discounted rates are offered by the Hertz company.

The Geneva International Airport (GVA) offers short and long-term parking facilities with direct access to the airport. The airport also offers an economy car park that is available for long-term parking, eight minutes' walk away from the terminal. There is a dedicated car park for the French sector as well.
P2 Arrival and P3 Departures offers open air car parking for quick passenger drop-off and luggage loading. These provide free parking for ten minutes. For parking cars for up to one hour, travellers should use the P1 parking lot, which provides underground, covered parking.
The P1 parking lot offers 2400 long-term parking spaces as underground, covered parking. The P51 lot provides 1700 spaces with 1400 of these spaces offered as covered parking. The main Swiss section of the Geneva International Airport (GVA) is accessible from the N1 Airport motorway by paying the vignette motorway tax. Take the A40 auto route (motorway) from France to the border and then the N1 Airport motorway. Drive direct to the French sector via Ferney-Voltaire, near Collonges on the D-984. This will make you avoid Swiss territory entirely. Follow the signs for Geneva at Ferney-Voltaire and, just before you reach the Swiss customs, take the road on the right to the French Sector of the Geneva International Airport (GVA).

DRIVING DIRECTIONS The main Swiss sector of the airport is accessible from the N1 airport motorway. From France, take the A40 (motorway) to the border and then the N1. PUBLIC TRANSPORT Rail: Geneva railway station is 300m (328 yards) from the Departures and Arrivals floors; all trains stop at central Geneva-Cornavin, in the city centre, and there are also direct trains to destinations throughout Switzerland and Europe. Road: Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport, departing from outside Arrivals. Ambassador (tel: (0)22 731 4141) also offers a limousine service. Bus: Buses stop outside Departures and Arrivals. Bus no.10 runs to central Geneva, and bus no.18 to the UN. Bus services from the French sector connect to regional French towns and various international routes to destinations in Spain, Portugal and Eastern Europe. AeroSki Bus provides services from the airport to many of the French ski stations.
