Introduction
Hamburg Airport (HAM) is northern Germany's premier gateway to Europe, providing direct flights between 120 worldwide destinations.
Located five miles (eight kms) north of Hamburg, HAM Airport is linked to central Hamburg by regular and express buses, airport transfer services and taxis. A fast, direct rail link to the city centre, running every 10 minutes, is due to be opened in 2008.
HAM Airport hosts 60 airlines, including Lufthansa, Air Berlin, Air France and British Airways, and provides extensive amenities for travelers. A major upgrade in 2005 has resulted in a switch to two state-of-the-art terminals to replace the four existing buildings, plus a new shopping plaza.

Hamburg International Airport has four terminals, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Terminals 1 and 2 are served by various airlines offering flights to a range of worldwide destinations. Short-Stay Parking
For short-parking the Hamburg Airport (HAM) provides parking lots P1, P2, P4, P5 and P6. Although all these parking lots are very economical for stays of one hour or less, parking lots P4 and P5, located near Terminal 2, are more expensive than the others are during longer stays.
Long-Stay Parking
Parking lots P8 and P9 are located further from the airport and are cheaper than the short-term parking facilities. When combined, parking lots P8 and P9 provide over 4000 parking spaces for patrons.

Bus Services
Airport Express
The Airport Express at Hamburg Airport (HAM) stops in front of the terminals and runs a service to the city centre. The journey takes around 30 minutes.
Line 110 Airport Express
The Line 110 Airport Express also stops in front of the terminals and runs a service to the Ohlsdorf underground station.
Shuttle Service

The Underground (U-Bahn)
Hamburg Airport (HAM) has yet to be connected to the underground rail network. The nearest station (Ohlsdorf) can be reached by using the Line 110 Airport Express Bus. From Ohlsdorf passengers have access to rail lines S1 and S11 as well as subway line U1.
Taxis

TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS A free shuttle bus runs between the terminals and to car park P6.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS The airport is situated between ring roads R2 and R3 on the A433 motorway, and is easily accessible and well signposted from central Hamburg. The A7 feeder road provides a connection to the airport at exit Schnelsen-Nord.
CAR PARKING Parking is available at car parks P1, P2, P4, P6 and P7. Car park P6 is a long-term car park linked to all terminals by a free shuttle bus. Valet parking is available in car park P5 (tel: (0)40 5075 1011). Information on parking at the airport is available (tel: (0)40 5075 3303).
CAR HIRE Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt are all represented at the airport; the booking counter is in Terminal 4 (except for Budget, which is based in Terminal 3).
PUBLIC TRANSPORT Road: Taxi: Taxis services to central Hamburg are readily available. A door-to-door shuttle service is offered by TravelPorter (tel: (180) 507 5286; website: www.travelporter.de) to destinations within Hamburg and further afield. Limousine: A limousine service is operated by STARS Limousinen-Service (tel: (0)40 5075 3540). Bus: Many bus services run to the city centre and other points around Hamburg, and the night bus no. 606 stops at the main railway station. Rail: The 101 Airport Express runs bus services from Terminals 1 and 4 to the nearby Ohlsdorf U-Bahn/S-Bahn station for connections to the S-Bahn S1 and S11 and U-Bahn U1 to the main railway station and the city centre (Jungfernsteig).
INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS Airport information desks (tel: (0)40 50750) are located in Terminals 1 and 4. The Airport Office (tel: (0)40 5075 1010), located between Terminals 3 and 4, Arrivals level, provides airport information, travel insurance and many other services.
AIRPORT FACILITIES Money and communications: There is a bank, bureau de change and post office in Terminal 4; ATMs are located in Terminals 1 and 4. Wireless Internet is available is available throughout the airport. Eating and drinking: There are many restaurants, bars and cafés at the airport; most are located on levels 0 and 3 of Terminal 4, and on the pier. Shopping: There is a variety of shops, including duty-free, in Terminals 3 and 4. Luggage: A porter service is available and advance reservations can be made (tel: (0)40 5075 2010; e-mail: porter@secuserve-ham.de). Trolleys are available for a small deposit. There is a left-luggage facility in the Terminal 4 Arrivals area, while lost property is handled by the Airport Office. Other facilities: The airport has a pharmacy and first aid facilities at the medical centre in Terminal 4. There is a chapel in Terminal 3.
CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS FACILITIES The Airport Office can provide business services including fax, photocopying and typing. The Airport Conference Centre (tel: (0)40 5075 2500) provides seven conference venues, accommodating up to 90 delegates, with audiovisual and other equipment for hire. The Hanseatic Conference and Banqueting Centre (tel: (0)40 5075 3338) provides 14 meeting rooms of various sizes, as well as business services such as telephone, fax, photocopying and translation, and equipment hire. Executive lounges are located on level 2 of Terminal 4. A VIP service is also available; reservations must be made 24 hours in advance (tel: (0)40 5075 2012).
DISABLED FACILITIES Disabled travellers are asked to notify their airline and the airport information desk (tel: (0)40 50750) of their needs, prior to travel.
