International Airport Los Angeles Terminal Information

Introduction

Each terminal at Los Angeles International Airport serves several airlines and a large number of destinations. Each terminal has a variety of restaurants, bars, newsstands, and shops. Business services, banks, and ATMs are also available. The Tom Bradley Terminal is LAX's principal terminal and offers additional services including a first-aid station and direct telephone service for hotel and car reservations.

International Airport Los Angeles Car Parking

Introduction

Los Angeles International Airport offers daily and metered parking near all terminals in the Central Terminal Area. Lower rate long-term parking is available in lots B and C; complimentary shuttles are available to carry passengers from these lots to the airport. Disabled passenger parking is offered in each lot. Passengers arriving at the parking area should allow plenty of time to comply with the security procedures that may include a full vehicle inspection.

Central Terminal Area

The Central Terminal Area is the most popular parking area at LAX. If the lot is full, there is also nearby metered parking.

Parking Lots B and C

Lots B and C are recommended for those parking long-term. Shuttles are available to carry passengers between the parking lots and terminals. Parking is free for the first two hours in both of these lots and costs a dollar for each hour thereafter.

Parking for Disabled Travelers

Los Angeles International Airport provides wider parking spaces near elevators for those with disabilities. These spaces are located in every airport parking lot. The airport also provides free shuttle buses equipped with lifts for passengers in wheelchairs, which are useful for travel between lots B and C and the terminals. International Airport Los Angeles Ground Transportation

Introduction

Los Angeles International Airport is served directly by shuttle, bus, and taxi. Public transportation is also available for travel both to and from the airport.

Shuttle Services

Outbound buses, shuttles, hotel or rental cars, and courtesy vans can be picked up from the designated areas on the lower / arrival level islands in front of each terminal. The areas are signed Van, LAX Shuttle, Bus Stop, and Courtesy Tram.

The FlyAway bus service leaves Terminal 1 and picks up on the lower level at the Bus Stop sign. Between 5:30 am and 12:00 midnight, the service runs every 30 minutes. From 12:00 midnight to 5:30 am, it runs 12:15 am, 12:30 am, 1:15 am, 2:15 am, 2:45 am, 3:30 am, 4:15 am, and 4:45 am.

Free shuttle service to the Metropolitan Transit Authority Metro Green Line Light Rail's Aviation station also leaves from the lower level under the LAX Shuttle sign.

Inbound transportation unloads on the upper level. Use the "A" bus for airlink connections. Frequent, free shuttles are available between each terminal for making airline connections. Use the "A" shuttle from under the LAX Shuttle sign.

Bus Services

City buses can be boarded adjacent to parking lot "C" by taking the "C" shuttle. Other public buses serving LAX include Culver City Bus Lines, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, and Torrance Transit. Bus information is available in the baggage claim area of each terminal.

Taxi Services

Taxis are available from curbside on the lower level. Passengers will be given a ticket stating the typical fare to major destinations. Airport authorized taxis will display an official seal. Passengers using unauthorized transportation services do so at their own risk.

All terminals at LAX are equipped with coded electronic lockers. Small, medium, and large lockers are available. A 24-hour locker limit applies for passengers at Tom Bradley Terminal; other terminals have a 48-hour limit.

Driving Directions

From Santa Barbara

Take Route 101 South for approximately 80 miles, then merge onto I-405 South. Take the Howard Hughes Parkway exit, then bear left onto South Sepulveda Boulevard and continue south. Take the Century Boulevard ramp, then drive along Sky Way and take a right at the end onto World Way North and follow to the airport.

From San Bernadino

Take I-10 West for roughly 40 miles, then merge onto I-605 South and follow for 12 miles. Merge onto I-105, follow for another 17 miles, then exit and merge onto North Sepulveda Boulevard. Drive for half a mile, then take ramp to World Way North and follow to the airport.

From Irvine

Take I-405 North for approximately 40 miles, then exit onto West Century Boulevard. Follow ramp, then bear right onto World Way North and continue to the airport.

TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS
A free shuttle bus serves all the terminals around the central loop.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
The airport is located just off the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway-1) and Highway-42, near the intersection of Freeways-405 and -105 (Highway-1 is also called Lincoln Boulevard just north of the airport and is called Sepulveda Boulevard just south of the airport). From Los Angeles, take Freeway-405 south, turn off onto either Highway-42 or Freeway-105 west, and follow signs to the airport. Traffic is heavy at peak times and the airport recommends using public transport.

CAR PARKING
There are about 8,000 parking spaces available in eight central car parks with good access to all the terminals, offering short- and long-term parking. The two perimeter car parks (Lots B and C) have cheaper daily rates and the first two hours of parking are free; the LAX shuttle runs between these car parks and the terminals. Metered parking is available in the central terminal area and on the Arrivals level uncovered car parks.

CAR HIRE
About 40 companies serve the airport, with offices located off-site. These, which include all major car hire companies such as Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz and National, can be contacted via courtesy telephone links inside or near the baggage reclaim areas on the Arrivals level of all terminals. Free shuttles transport passengers to the car company; the shuttles depart from designated areas on the Arrivals level islands in front of each terminal.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Rail: There is a free shuttle service from the airport which runs to the Aviation Station on the green line of the metro light rail network. Road: Taxi: Taxis and shuttles stop outside the terminals on the lower/Arrivals level. Authorised taxis serve the airport and display fixed fare tariffs to local destinations. Door-to-door shuttle vans are also available. Bus: Various airport bus and shuttle van services run to destinations all over southern California, including the Metropolitan Express to downtown Los Angeles and Union Station, the Airport Bus to Anaheim (Disneyland) and Buena Park and the FlyAway Bus providing non-stop transport between the airport and the San Fernando Valley. Public bus services are run by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority; buses run from car park Lot C, which is connected to the terminals by Shuttle C; they are also run by Culver City Bus Line, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus and Torrance Transit

INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS
Travelers Aid booths are located on the lower/Arrivals level of each terminal near baggage reclaim and provide information and assistance for disabled passengers. The airport has a 24-hour recorded information line (tel: 310 646 5252).

AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money and communications: ATMs and bureaux de change are available in all terminals. So are Internet access facilities. Mobile phone hire is available in the TBI Terminal Arrivals. Eating and drinking: There are numerous fast-food outlets, bars, coffee shops, restaurants and ice cream parlours across the airport. Shopping: Shops are plentiful at the airport; duty-free shopping is available in Terminals 2-8 and in the TBI Terminal; newsagents, gift shops and bookshops are also widely available. Luggage: Trolleys are available. There is a left-luggage facility on the Arrivals level of the TBI Terminal; a wrapping service is available. Lost property is handed to the LAX Airport Police (tel: 310 417 0440). Other facilities: There is a first aid station in TBI Terminal. AED units (defibrillators) are situated throughout the airport.

CONFERENCE AND BUSINESS FACILITIES
The Travel Right Café in Terminal 4 Departures has laptop and Internet connection and mobile phone services. Notary services are available in the TBI Terminal, at the ICE Currency Exchange booth on the Departures level. Fax and photocopying is available at the ICE Currency Exchange booth on the Arrivals level of the TBI Terminal, as well as on the Departures level of Terminal 3. There is a meeting room in Terminal 3, provided by Alaska Airlines (tel: 310 342 4435), and one in Terminal 1, provided by US Airways (tel: 310 417 2054). General conference facilities are available at nearby hotels. The Hilton Los Angeles Airport (tel: 310 410 4000) provides meeting rooms, including two ballrooms, on the newly renovated second floor, as well as a 24-hour fully equipped business centre.

DISABLED FACILITIES
Facilities include ramps and lifts, adapted toilets, wheelchair-accessible restaurants, fast-food outlets and coffee shops, and TDD telephones in all terminals. All airport car parks have plenty of disabled spaces and lift-equipped shuttle buses run between Lots B and C and the terminals. Free parking is available for disabled drivers in metered areas; however this is only available to drivers who can display a disabled permit. Wheelchairs can be requested from individual airlines; disabled passengers are advised to inform their airline of their requirements in advance. There is a TDD information line (tel: 310 665 0370).

AIRPORT HOTELS
There are numerous hotels nearby including the Hilton Los Angeles Airport (tel: 310 410 4000), Holiday Inn Los Angeles International Airport (tel: 310 649 5151), Crowne Plaza Hotel (tel: 310 642 7500) and Best Western Airport Plaza Inn (tel: 310 568 0071). Hotel reservation boards are located on the Arrivals level in each terminal with courtesy telephones for reservations. A hotel reservations office is located in the baggage reclaim areas of all terminals. Many hotels offer free shuttle services to/from the airport.
