Vancouver Airport (YVR) is Canada's second busiest airport, serving nearly 15.1 million passengers in 2002. Located just eight miles (13 km) south of central Vancouver, the Vancouver International Airport is the second largest international passenger gateway on the West Coast of North America and is also the homeport of the Alaska Cruise Program.

Convenient transport links by road and rail from YVR include bus services to major Vancouver hotels, and a free shuttle runs between the International and Domestic terminals and the South Terminal.

Vancouver Airport (YVR) Terminal Information

Vancouver Airport (YVR) has two main terminals that serve international and domestic flights, along with the smaller South Terminal.

International Terminal

While all other international Departures are made from Gate D of the International Terminal, USA departures are made from Gate E in the International Terminal. The International Terminal is also home to a comprehensive Business Center located on the Arrivals level.

Domestic Terminal

Canada Departures are from Gates A, B, or C in the Domestic Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport. In addition to all the other modern facilities, level one of the Domestic Terminal also includes a pharmacy, a medical clinic, a dental clinic and a dry-cleaning center.

South Terminal

Pacific Coastal Airlines operate from the South Terminal at Vancouver International Airport. A courtesy shuttle to this terminal runs between the ground floor of the Departures level and the Arrivals level of the International Terminal.

The car hire facilities are located on the ground floor of the Parkade close to the terminal. There are also two off-site car hire companies, which are Discount and Enterprise. Vancouver Airport (YVR) offers a wide range of parking facilities, which range from Gateway Valet and Concierge's convenient curbside vehicle drop-off and pick up to the low priced on-airport Long-term Parking.

Parkade

The Parkade is situated directly across the street from the Domestic and International Terminals of Vancouver International Airport. The Parkade offers short-term parking over three levels.

Level P1

Level P1 is a convenient drop-off location; offers hourly covered parking.

Level P2

For long-term parking, Level P2 provides hourly, daily and weekly tariffs. It also offers daily covered parking facilities.

Economy Parking Lot

The Economy Parking Lot is located adjacent to the multilevel enclosed Parkade. The Economy Lot offers cheaper rates for hourly, daily and weekly parking. The Economy Parking Lot provides covered walking access to the terminals.

Long-term Parking Lot

The Long-term Parking Lot is situated west of the Air Canada. Follow the signs that read "Long-term Parking Lot" from either terminal. A fleet of courtesy buses is available between the parking lots and both the International and Domestic terminals. The courtesy shuttle service operates 24 hours a day.

Parking for Physically Challenged Travelers

Accessible parking facilities are provided for mobility-impaired persons, with vehicles displaying a valid blue decal, at all terminals.

Bus Services

Scheduled bus services are available to major hotel destinations in Downtown Vancouver, the Resort Municipality of Whistler, Vancouver Island and Washington State. The South Terminal Shuttle connects passengers between the South Terminal and the Domestic and International Terminals.

Baggage Stores

CDS Baggage Storage provides short and long term baggage storage at the Vancouver International Airport. They have locations on the arrivals level of both the international and domestic terminals.

Lost & Found

The Vancouver Airport (YVR) Lost and Found Department is located at the Customer Service Counter on Departure Level 3 of the International Terminal. Items left on aircrafts are the responsibility of the respective airline. Hours of operation are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm daily. The Lost and Found Department can be contacted on 604-276-6104.

Missing baggage

Contact the respective airline in regard to missing baggage. The airport’s Lost and Found Department can only assist with items lost in public areas of the airport.

TRANSFER BETWEEN TERMINALS
The glass corridor walkway, known as the ‘Link’, connects the International and Domestic terminals. A free shuttle runs between the International and Domestic terminals and the South Terminal.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS
The airport is linked to Vancouver via the Arthur Laing Bridge and then Highway 99. Follow signs for Highway 99 South, and then the airport. The airport is located on Grant McConachie Way.

CAR PARKING
Parkade is the closest car park to the terminals, offering covered parking; level P1 is for pick-up/drop-off of passengers; levels P2 and P3 are hourly, daily and weekly parking. Hourly or daily parking is also available at the South Terminal. The economy car park, next to Parkade, is also close to the terminals (minimum stay: one day). There is also a cheaper long-term car park with a free 24-hour shuttle service to/from the terminals. There is a 24-hour valet parking service at both the Domestic and International terminals. CAR HIRE
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Hertz, National and Thrifty have facilities on the ground floor of the Parkade, close to the terminal. Off-airport companies, Discount, Dollar and Enterprise, can be contacted at the pick-up location near the economy parking lot.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Road: Taxi: Over 400 licensed taxis are available from outside the Domestic and International terminals daily 24 hours. Limousine: Limojet Gold Express operates from the airport daily around the clock (tel: 604 273 1331). Bus: The Airporter bus (tel: 604 946 8866 or 1800 668 3141 ; website: www.yvrairporter.com) serves central Vancouver hotels, the cruise ship terminal, and bus and train stations. Tickets are available from the Airporter desk in the Arrivals area of the terminals, at the pick-up point, or on the bus. Scheduled bus services are also available to major hotels in Downtown Vancouver, Whistler, Vancouver Island and various destinations in Washington State.

INFORMATION AND HELP DESKS
Customer service counters can be found on the Departures level of both the Domestic and International terminals. Tourism British Columbia Visitor Information Centre (tel: 604 207 0953 or 1598) counters are located on the Arrivals level in both the International and Domestic terminals and can help with accommodation, sightseeing and ground transportation tickets; multi-lingual services are available.

AIRPORT FACILITIES
Money and communications: ATMs, bureaux de change and banks are located in both the International and Domestic terminals. Full postal facilities and mobile phone hire are available in the Arrivals area of the Domestic Terminal. Telephones and Internet access are available throughout the airport. Eating and drinking: Licensed bars and restaurants, fast-food outlets, snack bars and coffee shops are located throughout the airport. Shopping: Most shops are located in the International and Domestic Departures areas. Duty-free shopping is available in the International Terminal, with one outlet also available in the Domestic Departures area. Luggage: Left-luggage facilities are available from CDS Baggage Storage (tel: 604 303 4519), in the Arrivals area of the Domestic and International terminals. Other facilities: The Domestic Terminal also has a pharmacy, medical clinic, dental clinic and dry cleaners. There is a spa, 24-hour nursery, and a children’s play area on the ‘Link’ walkway; baby change facilities and children’s play areas are also located at many other areas around the airport.

The CDS Business Centre (tel: 604 303 4500) in the International Terminal offers fax and photocopying facilities, computer workstations and Internet ports.

DISABLED FACILITIES
The airport is fully accessible to disabled passengers. There is a general information telephone line for the hearing impaired (tel: 604 207 7070). Disabled parking and wheelchair-accessible taxis are available.
